Adopting a holistic approach to any medical condition or ailment suggests trying to deal with that condition on a ‘whole-body’ basis. However, in this particular example, I would extend this from dealing only with matters that are concerned with your body to considering appropriate factors drawn from every aspect of your life too.
As a very simple example, we have already mentioned on many occasions that stress is generally believed to be one of the major causes of irritable bowel syndrome. Hence, if you can take actions that reduce the level of stress that you feel on a daily basis, you immediately remove one main factor that is causing your problem from the picture.
Somewhat obviously, diet is also another major consideration because any medical condition that is focused on your ability to pass food and waste materials through your digestive system without problems must be affected by your diet.
Hence, dealing with irritable bowel syndrome naturally is more to do with identifying the causes of your condition and then doing something about changing those causes for the better instead of only focusing on offsetting the worst effects of your condition.
